This upcoming explores clothing as a vehicle for women as shapeshifters. It interprets a mystical femininity with animalistic play and instinctual self-preservation against a harsh urban environment. It observes how nature and femininity parallel each other in their predicament of forcefully adapting to a point of mutation to claim space in the cityscape, like roots extruding through a concrete pavement.
As nomads of contemporary culture, the role of read-to-wear is to bridge the gap between practicality and avant-garde expression. Through modularity and comfort focussed pieces this collection allows deliberate sensuality; treating clothing as an accessory to the weare’s attitude of uncompromisingly harnessing their desire.
Liqui- A liminal offering, ambivalent and allowing.
Liqui means nothing. I was making up words that are pleasant to mouth. It was fun to say, and so it settled. Its familiarity to liquid projects a fluid scene in my imagined narration, but fleetingly and never the same. Every time I say it I exercise my desire by the physical end I choose to bring it. I am grounded to my voice, thought, and feeling simultaneously.
A word to say, a noise to make.
